After a very challenging endeavor in the ecommerce world, Ramin Erfanian, Founder of Vivital, decided to change course and devote himself to helping other companies reach their objectives, both business and technical. One of his New Year’s resolutions for 2006 was to get a number of articles published in prestigious publications such as Harvard Business Review. Ramin had been playing poker for many years and was always fascinated with how poker seemed to mimic real life, as if a miniaturized version. He started working on an article around this idea and, the more he researched and thought about poker, the more he understood there was a huge issue which had not been fully addressed. Although poker had become a great universal phenomenon with prizes worth millions of dollars, not enough had been done to help the over 100 million players all over the world. Yes, of course the books, blogs, and websites help, but not at the level that could mentor the player step by step. Players seeking out this more personalized assistance could expect to pay thousands of dollars, that is, if they could find it.
Ramin decided to develop this needed mentorship solution for the players but, along the way, he expanded the idea to cover not only poker, but all skill-based games. He understood why casinos may not want to adopt his technologies and how other building blocks could complement his initial invention. The resulting technology, Dominic, was a one-solution-fits-all innovative approach for players, casinos, and the governing bodies of the Gaming Industry. Named after the baby of one of Ramin’s friends (and later an investor in Vivital), Dominic began getting buzz about being the next killer application in the industry. Soon, Vivital Enterprises was born to nurture Dominic and put it into the hands of players everywhere.
